I hope everyone had a wonderful week! We are back again with another highly anticipated update that showcases another step of our production that brings us one step closer to shipment!

As seen in the photo above, MyKees are being placed in a specially made fixture before being loaded in the machine. The machining (CNC Mill)  process for the blade will insure that the blade wont be too sharp or dull but just right! Since blades are being made in steady rate we have decided to ship them in batches so we can get to them to your hands as soon as possible.

What exactly does batch shipping mean?

Once a batch of MyKees are finished with production, we'll go ahead and ship them out while the next batch finishes up. With this method we'll be able to handle large orders more efficiently without running into any shipping problems.

When exactly will the shipping start?

We'll be done with our first batch of keys within a 1 week period time and start the shipping then. The second batch won't take much longer, so no worries there! We also understand that holidays are around the corner and that’s why we are doing our best to make sure everyone receives their MyKees and Bits before then.

A lot of good news and some bad news!

Hello everyone we'd like to apologize for the delay of shipping and we are super grateful for your patience! We completely understand the frustration that some backers express as the original shipping date was listed as October. The sheer amount of orders that we've received has caused the delay and we want to make sure the key that we deliver to you, is without any production flaws.

GOOD NEWS

Let's start off with the good news as we have few to share with you guys. We are happy to say that the production of the keys are coming along perfectly with only few hiccups that have been taken care of. MyKees are currently in the process of getting the small metal tabs removed from the water jet cutting. Once all the tabs are removed, we will move on to machining the blade. We have continuously worked with our manufacturer to insure that the blade meets our standard. The process involved is a unique machining process that is only dedicated to creating the blade on MyKee. Our goal from the start was to create a blade that is not sharp enough to cut the skin and it was achieved via the machining process that creates a dome shaped semi sharp blade that is capable of performing the tasks that we listed in our campaign without hurting you guys.

BAD NEWS - Phillips KeeBit

Moving on to the bad news. Unfortunately we have experienced difficulty producing the phillips screw KeeBit and we have tried many different solutions that didn't have very good results. Due to its small size, with the machining process, the end results do not meet our standards. With that being said, we aren't planning on giving up, however we don't want the production of phillips Keebits to hold back the rest of our production. In the near future, our plan is to change the production from machining them to casting them, which will yield better results for this particular bit head. In the near future we will start developing more bits as promised and change our production methods but as of now we did our best and we didn't achieve what we aimed for.

The Extender and the Flathead are NOT effected and will be manufactured. We'd like to apologize for this unseen incident with the philips screw bit and we'd like offer a refund for this particular bit to those backers who ordered them. You will also have the option to receive a credit on backerkit if you choose so:

Breakdown of the refund:

Backers that ordered the package: Titanium (Philips, Flathead and Extender) or Titanium (Phillips & Extender or Flathead) will receive $8 refund.

Backers who individually ordered the titanium phillips bit will receive $10 refund.

Backers that ordered the package: SS (Philips, Flathead and Extender) or SS (Phillips & Extender or Flathead) will receive $6 refund.

Backers who individually ordered the SS phillips bit will receive $8 refund.

As part of our apology, in addition to refunds we'd like to offer the backers who ordered the bit, a $5 credit code that can be used in our next project towards a pledge.

Things are coming together!

Hello everyone! 

We have some great news to share with you all. I know many of you guys have been impatiently waiting for MyKees. So with that being said we’ve been working hard to get them to you as fast as we can and we’ve made some great progress and when it comes to progress we like to emphasize on the quality and not just quantity and our job is to make sure all the MyKees turn out the way we want them to. We have been very closely working with our manufacturer responsible for cutting and milling the MyKees and Keebits to insure the best outcome.

 Heres a sneak peak of the process involved in manufacturing MyKees.

KeeBit Pouches

Keebits were highly anticipated when we first introduced them however many wondered how they would be carried around. We did mention a free pouch will be included and we are proud to introduce them to you. 

These are small PU leather pouches that are durable and come with a split ring, however you can change the split ring to a titanium split ring that is being supplied with each MyKee. These pouches are designed to hold all combination of Keebits.

Production Has Began! + Instagram Giveaways

I hope everyone had a great weekend! Now that the new week is upon us, we are happy to say we've started production for the MyKees and KeeBits. Our first step of production is cutting the keys out of titanium sheets. We have been extremely busy setting things up and we'd like apologize for not being able to get to your questions and comments this past week. We are truly excited!

Since we take pride in workmanship, we chose one of the best engineering firms in Los Angels to bring MyKee to life!

We will post more updates as the production progresses so please be patient with us!

Many of you have already completed your surveys and are impatiently waiting for production! Thanks for being so responsive! Having accurate counts for manufacturing is very important to us!

This update is a reminder for those who haven't completed their survey or didn't get a chance to due to technical difficulties. Please check your email and if you haven't gotten an email survey just contact us and we will sort it out!

Lockdown is this Friday, October 9th.

Lockdown only applies to any add-ons for your pledge. You can change your shipping address up until we ship your reward but this will be the last chance to pledge for an additional MyKee and KeeBits. However MyKee and additional accessories can still be purchased through Pre-orders.
